Gift card terms
These terms apply to gift cards issued by Herboren Hout.
1. Validity
The gift card is valid for 2 years from the date of issue. The expiry date is shown on the personal gift card page.
Once the expiry date has passed, the remaining balance can no longer be used.
2. Redemption
The gift card can only be spent in the Herboren Hout webshop on products from the collection.
The gift card is linked to a unique code. Via the QR code on the gift card, the recipient can access the personal gift card page and the associated balance.
The gift card cannot be used to purchase a new gift card.
3. Partial redemption
The balance does not have to be spent in a single order. The gift card can be used across multiple orders as long as sufficient balance remains and the gift card is still valid.
4. Additional payment
If the purchase amount is higher than the available gift card balance, the remaining amount can be paid at checkout using another available payment method.
5. Remaining balance
If the purchase amount is lower than the available balance, the remaining amount stays on the gift card.
The remaining balance can be used on a later order, as long as the gift card is still valid.
No cash refund is given if the full balance is not spent.
6. Returns
Orders paid with a gift card are subject to Herboren Hout’s regular return policy.
If an order is returned in full or in part, the amount paid with the gift card is credited back to the same gift card.
If an order was paid partly with a gift card and partly with another payment method, the refundable amount is returned according to the payment method used at purchase, to the extent required by law.
7. Loss or theft
Treat your gift card and its unique code as a means of payment.
In case of loss or theft, we can only restore the balance if it can be sufficiently demonstrated that the gift card belongs to you and that the balance has not yet been used.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you lose your gift card. Where possible, we can block the gift card and issue a new code.
Herboren Hout is not responsible for use of the gift card by third parties if the unique code was made available by the recipient themselves.
8. Combining gift cards
Multiple Herboren Hout gift cards can be combined in a single order, provided the webshop supports this technically.
9. Validity after cancellation or return
If an order is cancelled or a product is returned, the original gift card remains valid.
The refunded balance keeps the gift card’s original expiry date. A return or cancellation does not extend the validity period.
Statutory rights, including the statutory right of withdrawal for consumers where applicable, remain fully in force.
10. Contact in case of problems
Having a problem with your gift card, is the QR code not working, or does the displayed balance look wrong? Please contact us.
If possible, include the unique gift card code. That way we can help you as quickly as possible.
